Dewpoint Professional Updates Employers on New CITB Funding Changes

Dewpoint Professional is providing an update to construction employers on upcoming changes to the CITB grants and funding offer, which will take effect from 8 January 2026. While funding will remain available for CITB-registered employers, support for most short courses will move to a 50% match-funded model delivered through Employer Networks.

These changes are being introduced by CITB to ensure the long-term sustainability of levy-funded training, following a significant increase in employer demand since 2021. The revised approach is designed to focus resources where they will have the greatest impact across the industry.

Employers should be aware of the new structure, which includes:

  • Short course training primarily supported via Employer Networks, with 50% funding for eligible courses.

  • Health and Safety and associated courses supported at 30% of the average market rate.

  • First Aid training will no longer be funded.

  • Changes to qualification grants, including the removal of attendance grants for long qualifications and a £600 achievement grant. Level 7 qualifications will no longer be supported, except for Level 7 Apprenticeships and Scottish Advanced Craft Certifications.

Dewpoint Professional encourages employers to review their training plans in light of these changes and speak with their local CITB adviser to understand how the new funding arrangements may affect upcoming training needs.

For further guidance, employers can also access CITB’s dedicated support page and webinars to gain full clarity on the updated grant structure.
